Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Eyes

This is my first blog post written and posted from my new cell phone! I know I should have posted pictures taken with a real camera, but I just wanna try something else (aka, I’m too lazy to find my SD card…). Hopefully I will continue with posting from my cell phone, it’s so much easier to update more often if I can do it with my phone!

So, I got this mascara for review purposes, so here you’ll get my thoughts in short about this mascara!

I like how the product packaging and mascara bottle looks and feels, it look so fancy and cute! BUT, I usually don’t care about how packaging looks, and I actually hate things that are weird shaped because they are not very practical to take with you in a already tight and full makeup bag or stack up in your makeup collection. The little space I have is precious, and I would rather use that space for more makeup product - not fancy bottles! It would have been so much better if this mascara came in a simple bottle.

The mascara itself is very easy to apply, thanks to the good brush. The brush is smaller on the tip, which really makes it easy to get to the small inner lashes. This mascara doesn’t give much volume, but the brush separate each lashes nicely so all of your lashes will be more visible – like doll’s eyes! Luckily, this mascara dries quickly so applying a few more coats to get more volume is possible. And since it dries quickly, my eyelashes held the curls I made with my heated eyelash curler. The mascara doesn’t feel heavy on the lashes at all, bud sadly, at the end of the day I had more mascara under my eyes than on the lashes. In other words, this mascara smudges. I actually think that I’ve never worn a mascara that smudges as much as this one in my life!

And one more sad thing, this mascara is perfumed. I know a lot of people loves that their makeup smells nice, but I seriously think that perfume in cosmetics is very unnecessarily – it’s not like people are gonna smell on your eyelashes or that the scent are helping the mascara to give you nice looking lashes. And we’re already using a perfume, right? Anyways, if you’re on of those that appreciate perfumed mascaras; this mascara smells like old lady perfume.

I wouldn’t recommend this mascara since it smudges, I could have lived with the perfume smell. If it wasn’t for the smudging part, I would totally have used this for my under lashes since the tip of the brush is perfect for small and fine lashes and leaves no clumps at all. I can’t believe that a mascara that costs 275 NOK/ 45 USD can disappoint me this much. Spend your money on something else is my advice.

Have you tried this mascara? What is your experience with it?

And uh, since this post is lacking pictures… Here are two pictures of :bling: my face :bling:

Thank you for this review! I noticed that especially expensive cosmetic articles are really bad in quality, too. Mostly, they are no better made than the cheap ones you can get in every Boot or Lush shop. There were some rumours about Lancome! They are reputed to use poisoned ingredients from China in their cosmetics.

PS: Black hair on you is really great! :blingbling:

It’s true that in many cases, cheap products can do the same job as expensive ones. :) It is possible to find great and cheap products, and sometimes expensive products can disappoint. Price doesn’t always say anything about quality.

I didn’t know that about Lancôme, it’s actually been a while since I used this brand, as a result of me trying to be more aware about what I’m using and also so I wouldn’t spend too much money on makeup. Long story short, Lancôme was one of the brands I decided to cut off out my makeup list. I haven’t spent any money on this brand for a few years.

I haven’t been following this brand, so I’m not updated with this. I will Google it around later, it’s always good to be updated :) Maybe you have some links? :tingsminkemas:

I usually just google, too. But recently I ve seen this wonderfully made documentary called » au naturel – the dirty world of cosmetic industry» on youtube, but alas it´s in German >_< There surely might me some good documentaries on this topic in English, too.

I’m currently using Lancôme Hypnôse Waterproof, and I think the brush i terrible. :( I always have to wipe off excessive product on a tissue before applying it on my lashes (or else it clumps and smudges all over my face lol) Once wiped it does a pretty good job, though!

It was a gift from my MAMMA so I really shouldn’t complain lol. I doubt I’ll buy it myself. CHANEL waterproof remains my favorite even though it’s really expensive :’(

I should also add that I really like Lancôme’s foundations. It’s the only foundation I’ve found that matches my skintone and doesn’t make my face an oily mess :stemninghjertebank:

I’m glad you found foundation that you like! How are they priced?

Sad to hear that you also feel so, I was hoping that I would be the only one. Such a shame for a mascara this expensive.

Jeg har hørt at den som bare heter Hypnôse er veldig bra! Bare synd denne her suger… Skjønner ikke hva de holder på med.

Tusen takk snille du, jeg er glad jeg har vært savnet. Lol

    Thanks for reviewing :tekst!!:

I use it right now I’m satisfied… but I think that lancome makes my lashes heavy. I prefer «HR sexy eyes » more since my lashes are thick :ansiktmaske:

Wow, I can’t believe a mascara so expensive could be so bad. :(

I’ve always avoided Lancome because I never hear anything good about the brand. Thanks for the review!

Thank you for the review! It’s a shame that it smudes and is perfumed, (I don’t like perfumed products either, it makes me feel that there are a lot of unnecessary chemicals in it :C ) and it looks like a pretty product, the smaller tip is a really good idea I think, as I always have a problem getting to my smaller lashes. Oh well! I will try a different Lancome product :tingrosebling:
