Not many days ago I decided to start tanning again, when I looked for a bikini. I had decided to stay pale this year because I think pale skin can be really beautiful too, but seeing all the pictures of tanned people made me really inspired and wanting a deeper tan again!
I was thinking about writing about my tanning routine… I always get a lot of questions about tanning before summer, so why not gather all the information in one blog post?
I have to remind you of all the health risks and blahblah blah cancer blah blah. You’ve probably heard all the warnings and horror stories before. It’s not something to joke about, and they should be taken seriously. But I’m not your babysitter, so I won’t write about them, just remind you to use your brain when you decide to tan. Aaaand pleeeeeaaaase remember that this is not a tutorial or anything, just how I tan and my thoughts around my routine. Ok, fuck this boring shit. Let’s talk about tanning! Just don’t blame me if anything goes wrong!!!
First, you’ll have to find out what kind of products you want to use, and to find out that you’ll have to figure out what kind of skin you have. I have a skin that tan easily and I’ve never been sunburnt before. Except from the time I was in Africa and I was tanning in the middle of the day in almost 40 degrees, I got a little sunburnt that time, stupid me.

The Get Dark!-series from California Tan are my favorite tanning lotions for tanning beds. Not only does they help me with achieving a nice and deep tan, they also smells good and moisturize my skin! Old picture, btw.
Not pictured here, but tanning goggles is a good investment if you’re planning to tan often. It will protect your eyes from the UV.
Well, that’s all you really need. Buuuuut to make it easier to tan more often, a few more stuff is needed to make it less boring! I always have makeup remover wipes, sunglasses and music player in my bag so I can drop in at the tanning salon whenever I’m a close to one. In that way, you don’t really need to plan when or where to go tanning – just drop in when you see a salon!

Huge sunglasses and music
I guess I don’t need to explain the makeup remover wipes and the music player, but you might wonder why I need huge sunglasses. Well, I removed my makeup with the wipes before I went to tanning – the huge sunglasses are good to cover my bare makeup-less face after the tanning session! Might not be so important for you, but I know for sure it’s easier to convince myself to tan if I don’t need to walk around without makeup later.

I tanned every second day, 15-20 minutes each session. I think I’ve finally achieved the tan I’ve wanted to have as base before summer, so I guess I’ll be tanning only once a week from now. 15-20 minutes each time. I hope I can get a reaaaally dark chocolate tan this year, I will try to do my best to spend a lot of time outside when I am free. I have a laptop so there isn’t really any excuse to not go out!! I’M READY FOR SUMMER NOW, PLEASE COME ASAP!!

The result! I love this D.I.A. top, but I don't think I've posted any picture of me wearing it here... I think it looks so good on dark skin tone, it gives a summer feeling!
I LOVE how a tan makes everything look better, kinda more healthy and… fit. Not that I am any of these things, but I kinda looked dull and sick when I was pale. Now I can trick people to believe that I have a life where I do a lot of cool stuff, like traveling and hanging around at the beach!!! hahahahah

I went to Ibiza last week and was slathering on lots of sun cream and I still got burnt
I have a weird light tan on the left side of my body now and you can see where my bikini was on haha, but I want a whoooole tan
I might have to come tanning with you – or come and get burnt – and then my skin will say «yeahhh time to tan!»

BOOBS FOR YOU, EILISH.
Hahaha, Eilishhhhh. You’re like the FAKE TAN QUEEN!!! Even though you might have a hard time to get a real tan, I know for sure you’re one of the best to apply fake tan. It look good too, and it’s better for your skin in the long term!!

Thanks for sharing your tanning routine!! I have been thinking about going to a salon as this horrible London weather has made my usual tan skin look really pale so a boost would help a lot

Haha, it depends on the solariums, but most solariums also have vending machines selling lotions!

God I hate reading things like these, feel so bad just because I’m like chronically pale. Haha. Well, maybe not chronical, but I have a really hard time getting even the slightest tan, and people give me all kinds of shit for it. Like, really make fun of me because I am pale.
So, even though you go for the tan, it’s still nice to hear someone say they think pale is nice too.
