13.12.11 Some thoughts on removing makeup

One of the reasons of why I’m awake late at night is because I’m too lazy to remove my makeup. And I refuse to sleep if I have makeup on, unless it’s something that’s really preventing me from doing so. It’s just something I don’t want do, no matter what. So… I stay awake until I’m so tired that I HAVE to force myself to get my ass over to the restroom to remove the makeup.

But right now I’m not tired at all, so I will take some pictures and blog about this super interesting topic (NOT) instead of doing what I should have done; sleeping. :stemningzzz:

I’m so sillyyyyyyyyyyyyy, hahahaha. :hellospark:

Please tell me that I’m not the only one that thinks removing makeup is boring? It’s much work! First take off lenses, remove fake lashes. Then use eye makeup remover to remove eye makeup, wash the face carefully with cleanser, clarifying lotion and put on cream. It takes a lot of time, but in the end it’s totally worth it because if I do this every day I will have a really nice skin!

The feeling after removing makeup always make me feel ashamed for letting my skin be covered up in makeup. :tingsminkemas:

I have to admit that I’m not very good at taking care of my skin if I don’t wear makeup, though. If I’m not wearing any makeup for one day, there is 99% chance that I’ll have a pimple somewhere on my face the day after. Doesn’t sound logic at all, does it? Usually people tell me they get bad skin when they wear makeup, but in my case it’s the opposite!

After all these years I’ve understood that it is because I don’t take enough care of my skin. In my case, wearing makeup is my number one reason of why I bother to go trough skin care routines. If I’m not wearing makeup, the chances that I will go trough the cleansing process is very minimal. Which is sad, because the oil are still produced and the pores will get clogged.

Omg I’m the same, I absolutely hate taking off makeup! I especially hate when I have to wash the cleansing stuff off my face with water because I always splash it all over me and the floor LOL

I think we all hate removing makeup! I hate it because when I do, I am suddenly UGLY! I feel like my made-up face is my REAL face, and my makeup-free face is that of an ogre who has no eyelashes and uneven skin!

Haha, that was something new for me! Next time I will probably think about that too, haha. I’m like you – my lashes are super short, almost invisible. But I have decent skin, I guess.

But hey, it’s sad to hear that you’re thinking like that about yourself :( Try to think the more positive way, what about try to think that you’re saving your skin from makeup and focus on how goooood it feels when you’ve removed the makeup!!!

I always remove my make-up, or else I’ll just be laying down in bed thinking about it. I try to take care of my skin as well as I can!
I believe that will benefit me now and later in life.

I’m very strict about not sleeping with makeup on too. Also after partying when I just want to pass out in bed (Like Marita said, when way too drunk :ansikthihi: ), I have to go clean my face first! SO IMPORTANT O_O
But I don’t think it’s annoying to remove it because it’s so refreshing somehow… and pretty quick (for me). I just take off lashes etc, then a quick water splash, then use cleansing milk, then it’s done! And so much easier since I started using less liquid foundation and more mineral foundation…~

Yes, mineral foundation is much easier than liquid foundation, I agree!

And sometimes, I use makeup remover wipes wich is also doing things a little easier. I recommend them on lazy days, but I don’t feel they are as good as a real cleansing routine!

I totally agree it is a lot of effort to take off makeup and it’s not fun like when you’re putting on makeup. Also my skin is faaaaar from perfect so I usually like to have a little bit on just to even it out at least haha

You wear makeup everyday? I too remove my makeup before going to bed because I can’t sleep properly with my makeup on. I’ll be half conscious all throughout the night thinking of my makeup going all over my pillows! lol

I must be different from everyone else because I enjoy removing make up and cleaning my face. And doing all sorts of facial treatments cause they make me feel pretty. Not that I don’t feel pretty with make up but sometimes, especially in the summer when it’s hot and you might sweat a bit, you can feel your make up piling up on your face in the sun and heat and it makes me feel pretty gross tbh. That’s why I only wear mildly some mineral powder and other nude colors in the summer.
But I guess I’m not the same anyway cause I’m not in gyaru fashion so I don’t wear as much make up or falsies to begin with. For evening make up removing I only use Clinique’s Take the day off make up remover, then wash with deep cleansing gel and apply A vitamin cream. Takes around 10 minutes, I can live with it! :)

I can so relate to this! LOL! I delay it for as long as i can resulting to me sleeping later than I intended! I have cleansing creams and the like but I get so lazy to use them and my face still doesn’t feel «clean» unless I wash everything off but I hate washing it all off and getting parts of my hair and clothes wet!

hey :) I always hate removing make up when I came home late from a party or something. The last thing I want to do when I´m tired as hell is removing make up :melodysge:
But for the sake of my skin I always force myself to do it in the end, because I´m really afraid of getting bad skin or early wrinkles :hellospoek:

I can’t go to sleep with makeup on! I will so regret it in the morning specially since my eyes tend to get very dry upon waking up and any makeup specially eyeliner and mascara would definitely make it worse!!! I use Bifesta/ Cleansing Express makeup remover. It removes fake lashes and eye makeup quickly as I said on my review on it. I don’t usually wear fake lashes though, so wipes too are a quick way to remove makeup. I just splash water after to get rid of any oiliness.
